Dudley Sports 2 AFC Wulfs 1

West Midlands Premier
As in the first encounter between these two sides it was Wulfs who started the brightest playing some neat and tidy football with Sports not being able to get any foothold in the game.
Wulfs first real chance of the game fell to there centre half who was left unmarked in the six-yard box from a corner but the player managed to put the ball high and wide and wasted a great chance.
With a lot of petty fouls in the game, the game began to get very scrappy and when Matt Bridgewater was fouled in the middle of the pitch twenty yards out from goal the young striker picked himself up and smashed the resulting free kick into the bottom corner of the net with a un-stoppable strike.
Sports were now on top and increased there lead when Ross Harris won a tackle on the half way line and played Anthony Cox thru one on one with the Wulfs keeper.
The forward waited his chance and lifted the ball over the keeper and into the net for a fine finish.
Wulfs were still having a lot of the ball though but could not find a way thru a solid Sports defence and the half finished with Sports on top.

Sports started well in the second half with their midfield competing well and keeping Wulfs at bay. This was until a rare mistake from Tom Isherwood who dwelled on the ball and let in the Wulfs right wing back who raced clear of the Sports defence and finished well from a tight angle.
This lead to a blood and thunder end to the game with both teams having a real go at each other, but the closest Wulfs got to an equalizer was in the last minute from a corner that Sports had to desperately claw away.
Manager Neil Perks said: “We had to show the other side of ourselves today, Wulfs battled away and made it a very uncomfortable afternoon for us all, but our battling qualities were there for all to see, something we will have to show a lot more of during the course of the season remaining”.
