When standing on a very wet pitch the Huff UK manager Mark Stevens said to Padir Brewster ‘see if you can play your passing game on this pitch’

Mark Stevens must regret saying that as this must have been the best football the cheese men had played all season by far.

With outstanding performances from all the players the team move like a flotilla of battleships across the water and when the big gun started to open up on the Huff UK defence they soon put the white flag up and abandon ship.

The game was been played at the ponderosa (Ashmore Park) and once again a fine crowd battle the elements to see the peoples club and they where not disappointed as wave after wave of a full on assault was applied on the Huff goal mouth Lee Onions opened the scoring after 7mins when Ashmore goal keeper lee Cooke played the ball Healy and went on a run something he did all game.

Then played the ball to Hale he played it to Mincher Ward who put in a nice cross that found Onions in the 6 yard box he stop the ball then let the Keeper make his move and then slipped the ball around him and into the back of the net. 1-0 up the Ash went on the rampage with a barrage of shots soon it was 2-0 this Mark Cooper then Cooper again 3-0 Tony Brown made it 4-0 with a nice turn and shot from the just outside the box Cooper made it 5-0 just before half time when he single handily tuck on the Huff defence went down the line came inside and from an acquit angel flicked the ball over the keeper.

In the second half the Ashmore just toyed with the Huff UK team Onions got his second Mincher Ward made it 7 and Healy got the eighth but it should be said that Carl (son of Padir) Rogers and a hand in al the goals.

Padir Brewster said if the linesman had not cheated then it would have been 13 or 14 Padir went on to say the linesman couldn’t Run a bath let a lone the line and that he had never seen a pizza deeper then the Huff defence.
