Brewsters boys on Skedgel

Wednesday 21st November 2007, 8:44AM GMT.

ashmore.jpgOn a cold and wet morning the Ashmore Inn FC welcomed Sparta FC to Ashmore Park in the Skedgel Cup the winners would then be in the last eight.

The game started off with the cheesemen doing all the attacking but as last week chances where missed by Cooper Healey Brown and the boss’ son Carl Rogers.

The crowd seemed to be getting impatient, not a big crowd but with the weather was so bad it was fair play to them standing to cheer on the boys with Brannon making a come back from injury partnering Golden Boy Pugh and Andy Cartwright did very well.

Goalkeeper Cooke had little to do but what he did he done well. As the Ashmore pressd the away side on to the back foot then Healy went on a run going passed the deffenders and hit an unstoppable shot off the post and into the back of the net then Mark Cooper scored a well played move with Onoins Mincher and Hale.\

Cooper went on to get two more nice goals but it was the Bosses Son Carl Rogers who made the head lines with five of the best goals I have seen and Carl saluted the Bill G stand every time.

At this rate I think he will be on the move to the Corpus in the transfer window.

There were goals from Mincher who came on late for the injuryed Andy Ward who seemed to loses his balance when going for the ball.

Tony Brown scored a good goal to make the final score 10-0.

A name to look out for in the future is that of Dale Cooper a 17 year old that Brewser gave a run out to with 35 mins to go.

Lee Onions did well but seemed to be missing his son Scott .
