Robertson out to show best
Tuesday 13th November 2007, 7:46AM GMT.
Double ranking event champion Neil Robertson is determined to produce his best at snooker’s Maplin UK Championship at the Telford International Centre in December.
Australia’s Robertson won two major titles last season the Royal London Watches Grand Prix and Welsh Open but crashed out in the first round of the Maplin UK Championship when he suffered a shock defeat to Robin Hull.

But the 25-year-old from Melbourne has targeted the event as one of his key priorities this season.
“Last year I celebrated for too long after winning my first tournament,” admits the gifted left-hander.
“That really affected my preparation for the UK. Now I’ve learned my lesson and I’ve calmed down a lot.
“This is one of the events that all the players want to do well at as the prize money and ranking points are pretty high.
“The Maplin UK Championship is really a big one on my list.
“It’s also exciting to go to a new venue and I think Telford will be a great place to stage the tournament.”
Also battling for the title will be the likes of Ronnie O’Sullivan, Stephen Hendry, Ding Junhui, Steve Davis and defending champion Peter Ebdon.
