Best Villa Blues game ive seen for years, ref made a couple of dodgy decisions and it probably should have finished a draw.
Im a villian and Blues shouldnt worry as theyve got enough in the team to finish mid table.

Listening to TALKSPORT on the drive in to work this morning, there have been a number of nuetral fans phoning in, saying that the game was a real gritty derby match. A REAL hard football match, and it was brilliant. I know its the blues ground, but i have to say the atmosphere the second derby created was amazing and a great advert for the game as a whole, so much so that there are positive comments coming from all quarters. Having read the Sun’s review of the game, I have no idea what game they where watching!!!
As i said, the atmosphere was amazing, when villa scored, the fans looked so happy, and being a villan when the blues grabbed the goal, seeing the sty(!!!!) jumping as it did made you realise how important this game is in our season. I echoe the anon comment above, the blues have enough to stay up, I hope they do because i live for days like that. I walked into work my head held high, my pocket a bit heavier(correct predicion of the score!!) and i can’t wait for my ticket to arrive for the derby at the mighty villa park. My flights from belfast are already booked, just waiting on my ticket!
In all fairness, the game reflected a scoring draw, but the marvel that is mighty gabby made a vitel contribution in a space of 60 seconds! And the heartbreak ridge own goal, was amazing!
Anyway, keep the faith, UP THE VILLA!!!

Fantastic result for the Villa boys, it seems that after a few dark years we have finally realised what it takes to win a derby match. Only thing that spoilt the day for me was being penned in the ground for an hour while the Police dealt with the chavs/knuckle draggers/hooligan wannabees etc who were waiting to cause trouble outside.

Blues? Mid-table? You are having a laugh, surely? They ran round like headless chickens and made only one chance in the whole match. OK they whacked it around a bit but they always do. I never worked in a Derby game when it has more chance of doing so than in a run-of-the-mill Prem clash. When they fail to summon the fury they can against Villa in the next few matches it will be obvious to everyone that they are doomed. They should start buying players in January who might get them promoted next season. As for the Asbo brigade throwing bricks and bottles at us? They did the heritage of their club proud by acting as shamefully as their ancestors.
