Time to map out a plan for Villa's future

Aspects of David lift show

Aspects of Love
Grand Theatre, Wolverhampton
This thrilling production is pure Andrew Lloyd-Webber, but for grown-ups.
The tangled tale, based on the novel by David Garnett, tells the story of 17-year-old Alex who falls in love with actress Rose Vibert.
His invitation to her to join him at his uncle’s villa in the Pyrenees leads to a love triangle between the three principal characters which spans decades.
This latest version of the heart-rending love story is executed perfectly by the whole cast, though there is no doubt that David Essex in the role of George Dillingham is the star of the piece.
His truly unique vocals filled the theatre with a warmth and excitement as only he can.
Matt Rawle as Alex and Shona Lindsay as Rose give the performances of their lives, serving up an offering of passion and portraying the horribly destructive side of love affairs, rather than the hearts and flowers.
Rawle’s remarkable tenor voice sailed through Lloyd Webber’s score with ease.
This is a impressive example of musical theatre but not one for the faint-hearted or easily shocked.
It runs until Saturday.

What a fantastic show. David Essex has been my heartthrob since 1973 and he never ever fails to amaze me, he is so talented and seems to be able to turn his hand to anything. The whole cast deserve praise as they performed to the highest standard possible. The singing was second to none. Well done to everyone, you were all brilliant but of course David has to be my favourite.

A truly wonderful performance of all the cast. The story deals with many aspects of love’s complications.
The music, as would be expected from an Andrew Lloyd Webber production, is excellent and very moving and spine tingling in parts.
Going to see this show for the 8th time tomorrow!
David Essex – ‘you are amazing’in your role as uncle George!

I too have followed David since his beginning and seen him in all his shows, plays concerts etc. This show is completely different to anything I have seen David in before and he was truly amazing. There certainly is no end to his talents. The whole cast fitted perfectly together and made a very convincing “family” Cant wait to see it again.
Fabulous.
