Willenhall 0 Romulus 1
Monday 29th October 2007, 12:32PM GMT.
Willenhall lost for the fifth time in a row in the league going down 1-0 to Romulus.
The visitors made the brighter start. with Danny McGhee shooting wide.
Willenhall could have won a penalty. when Tyrone Barnett appeared to have been brought down in the area but referee decided goalkeeper Matt Harris won the ball fairly.
In a first half of few chances Willenhall could have taken the lead.
Adam Cain’s cross found captain Mark Briggs but the midfielder will be disappointed with his volley.
Debutant McGhee was linking up well with dangerman Fagan and the winger’s cross saw Fagan time his run to perfection to get on the end of it but he could only head over the bar from close range.
The second half was also a tight affair, but with both teams after the three points there were more chances.
The only goal of the game came on 61 minutes.
A mix-up in the defence gave Jason Lanns the time to send an audacious lob from 20 yards that Jackson could only stand and admire.
Willenhall searched for an equaliser and had two great chances but failed to grab that vital goal.
