“The two women, who are thought to be in their 40s, were taken to New Cross Hospital in Wolverhampton complaining of breathing difficulties. Their condition is not believed to be serious.
“It is believed that the problem was caused by a heater element burning out and the smell spreading via the air conditioning system.
“All guests were allowed back to their rooms and all of our ambulance staff had left the scene by 1.40am today.”
Fire crews from Wolverhampton were also called to the incident.
West Midlands Fire service divisional officer Mark Birch said an investigation into the cause of the problem would be carried out.
Duty manager at the hotel Tara Lloyd said the evacuated guests were taken to the lobby and were able to return to their rooms in the early hours of this morning.
