For the last two years running bricks have been thrown at Father Christmas during his street collections.

Things were so bad last year that a security guard went out on the festive fundraiser to protect Santa.

Tipton Community Association which organises the annual event said this year’s route had not yet been drawn up but group president Barry Whitehouse admitted staying away from some areas where trouble has been experienced in the past was a consideration. “We haven’t finalised it yet but there are one or two areas we will need to look at,” he said. “There won’t be any security guards but we will be having extra people with us for safety advice.”

The group has been touring the streets of the town every December for a number of years. The parade raises hundreds of pounds for charity every year, with people knocking on doors as the motorised sleigh passes through the streets with its flashing lights and blaring Christmas music.

Mr Whitehouse said they hoped to finalise the route and all relevant safety measures by next week.

If this story does not make your blood BOIL you are not human. WHY should children and families suffer..surely, the police and the council must be aware of this? This is a HATE CRIME.

If they are capable of getting away with this..for two years..what other crimes have they committed? Are the police fearful of acting? Does the council relish this representation of Tipton? Once again we have yet another sickening portrayal of this area, and once again nothing is done..see if they drop litter; I bet the council will act.

Why no security? Who NO police..where are you? Why am I paying tax? Is Tipton nick still closed at night?! You’ve had this problem for two years and you – along with the council – seen unwilling to do ANYTHING about it. This is for charity, for children. How clear does it have to be before you act?

It would not surprise me if someone followed them with a camera. The moment trouble flares up I bet they may consider posting their faces on the net. No, that wouldn’t surprise me at all. You wonder why decent people don’t want to live here? Here’s just one of countless reasons. Any other country and this would have been dealt with, but no..

You know, Tipton folk..why aren’t you commenting on this? Aren’t you the least bit disgusted? Get vocal – get active – and get these yobs OFF our streets.
