The Ashmore inn gave Chairman Billy Healy seven goals & three points for his 50th Birthday Present when Penn FC came to visit the Cheesemen at the park.

From the off the home side came out with all guns blazing as hot shots Cooper and Rogers started to blast away at the Penn FC goalkeeper then as Rogers made his way past 2 defenders he was pulled down in the area and Mark Cooper stepped up to the spot and sidefooted by ball passed the Penn keeper that was after 10 mins.

Then on 13 mins Rogers again went on a run down the left wing, cut inside the fullback and hit the ball with the outside of his right foot the shot went like an express train off its rails (unstoppable) and flew into the top right hand corner of the net to make it 2-0 to the Ash.

With Brown’s constant run and hard work the Penn defence soon came under fire again as Cooper got his 2nd of the game with a nice one two with Brown inside the box Cooper chipped the on coming Keeper to make it 3-0.

Penn seemed all over the place and Lee Mincher and it 4 with some good play from Onions Rickuss & Hale to put Mincher in who finished well with half time approaching Ashmore Goalkeeper Lee Cooke pulled off a good save and his ball handling was top draw stuff all game.

Half Time 4-0 to the Ash.

In the second half it was never much the same with Penn having to do all the defending.

The away support kept encouraging their side and when Penn managed to string 3 passes together they came up with a loud cheer?

Good job they never got a corner.

But with Pugh Healy Rickuss & Szartic all doing their bit at the back things looked well.

Soon Cooper got his third Lee Onions & Scott Sandland got one each to make the final score 7-0 to the Ashmore.

So all the Ashmoreonians then went and celebrated the Chairman’s Birthday in the Ashmore Inn.
