Firm wants curvy girls
Tuesday 23rd October 2007, 11:21AM BST.
A new Black Country fashion firm is on the hunt for models to show off its new range of clothing designed for curvaceous figures.
Cradley-based firm Blessd wants real women with real figures to become fashion models and has teamed up with a Birmingham modelling agency to find ladies to model their outfits at the forthcoming Clothes Show at the NEC.
The lucky winners will model the new Blessd range on Blessd’s stand at this year’s Eve Style Show, which is part of the Clothes Show and runs at the Birmingham venue from December 7 to 12.
They will model for Blessd photo shoots and promotional events throughout 2008 and they will also be helped towards potential further modelling assignments for one year with the Alan Sharman Agency.
Blessd specialises in fashionable clothing, designed to compliment a woman’s natural body shape.

Blessd specialises in fashionable clothing, designed to compliment a woman’s natural body shape.
It caters for women with either a bust over a D cup or more generous than average hips in relation to their relatively trim, UK 8-16 waist size.
Managing director of Blessd, Claire Priest says: “Our Get Real! Campaign is the ideal antidote to the size zero epidemic.
“We want to encourage women to be proud of their gorgeous figures. Our fashions flatter their curves and we need models to show them off to their best.
“We really are looking for fit, fabulous women across the whole size range: from an 8 waist with a D cup bust/size 10 hip to a size 16 waist with an FF cup and size 18/20 hip,” she said.
• Details of the competition can be found on the Blessd website www.blessd.com
Candidates will be asked to send a simple headshot and full length photograph of themselves but these do not need to be professionally done.
Applicants must be women aged between 20-40 with a UK size 8-16 waist and a D+ bust and/or generous hips.
Closing date for applications is October 31 and the winners will be announced on November 16.

As a real man I think it’s discrimination to offer jobs to “real women with real figures”. I need the job and shouldn’t be excuded because I’m not a woman.

I do not think that men feel the same pressure as women to look a certain way. The fact that this is aimed at women is reassuring us that it’s ok not to follow suit of so many slim women in the media’s eye these days. Plus, it’s a women’s clothing range, therefore would not be too flattering on you.
