Chasers hold on for victory
Tuesday 23rd October 2007, 12:17PM BST.
Chasers ran out 26-22 winners despite a spirited effort from Whitmore M in the Wolverhampton City Netball League.
A Chasers’ defence of Myrtle Robinson, Kaye Le Page and Sarah Guest proved too solid for the ever-improving Whitmore’s M team in division one, although the accurate shooting of Whitmore’s Mo Foster and Lucinda Price managed to get them within four goals of at the final whistle.
Defending champions Sapphires also hit the goal trail as they defeated Wednesfield 35-19 despite Wednesfield’s Michelle Anderson and Teresa John’s impressive marking of Gail Perrins and Lisa Blunt.
Division two saw Ladybirds regaining some of their previous form against Eurostars to record a 27-22 win.
And Jupiter’s team work, lead by Alison Williams playing as wind defence, proved unstoppable as they beat Ice 40-21 while in division five two teams contained each other well as Fahrenheit and Thundercats draw 19-19.
