W’ton Netball League round-up
Tuesday 16th October 2007, 10:41AM BST.
Whitmore Y streaked into the lead in their Division One match against Wednesfield in the Wolverhampton City Netball League.
But in the closing 10 minutes Wednesfield’s dogged persistence paid off and they battled for a draw.
Opposing centre players Kate Flute and Tessa Davies contained each other in a fast, flowing game.
In Division 2 a goal for goal struggle entertained spectators as Wordsley Storks and Breezers transformed each interception into successful attacking.
Only the final whistle prevented Wordsley from making it a draw.
Sadly Division Five’s troubled Fahrenheit were missing two centre court players, allowing Chasers Juniors the run of the courtto win by 33 goals.
In the Open Knock-Out Static Systems, boosted by the strong defence of Abi Carr, Glynis Rowntree and Laura Jones reached the semi-finals by beating Ladybirds.
