The Lions and Tigers of Stone Cross faced each other for the first time and it was the Tigers who came out top cats thanks to a hat trick from Tom Shorthouse and a strike from Reece Laws.

The Lions faced Vic Market Tigers in their second match and again it was the Tigers who came out on top with goals from Jack Carter and Liam Jones.

Top of the table Bentley Youth started the day with a resounding victory over All Saints courtesy of a hat trick from Joshua Toye, a brace from Keiran Francis and a strike from Harry Shaw and they maintained their 100% record for the season with an equally comprehensive victory over Vic Market Tigers but this time Jack Adams and Jake Powers bagged two goals apiece with Harry Shaw, Joshua Toye and Keiran Francis completing the scoring.

FC Strollers were in fine form keeping up the pressure on Bentley at the top of the table with two wins.

East Division – Lane Head, needing only one point to secure the championship title duly obliged by taking all six from their two games, and again didn’t concede a goal.

Jack Arnold, with a hat trick, and James Shinton, saw them to victory over Wolverhampton Development Panthers, and this was followed up by a 9-0 victory over Salisbury Rangers.

This time it was Russell Heathcock with four and Jake Proffitt with a hat trick who, along with Jack Arnold and Kameron Moore, saw Lane Head to victory.

Which makes the chase for runners-up spot very interesting. Smethwick Sikh Temple stay in the driving seat, after two good wins.

Joshua Bernard scored the only goal of a close-fought game against Bentley, but then Sanghat Bassi became the day’s highest goal scorer in any league when he hit five of the six goals against Bustleholme.

Aran Singh was the other scorer, with Bustleholme’s solitary reply coming from Jake Powell.

Closest rivals Perton and Codsall East started the day well with a 3-1 victory over Salisbury, with a George Vernon brace and one from Jake Sharman.

Sabraaj Khasnia scored for Salisbury. However P and C couldn’t keep up the pressure, going down 2-3 to a rapidly improving Bentley side.

Anthony Clift with two and Jordan Sherwood were Bentley’s scorers, with Jamie Ward and Jake Sharman scoring for P and C.

Wolverhampton Panthers also started to fall back, as they didn’t recover from the Lane Head defeat, going down 2-1 to Stone Cross, probably the most improved team in the division.

Bradley Lovett hit a brace, with Panthers’ reply coming from Kallum Norwood.

Earlier Stone Cross had run out 3-2 winners over Bustleholme. James Hall with two and one from Owen Westwood saw them to victory, with Jacob Wheale and Delmaro Channer replying for Bustleholme.

Special mention should go to Dudley Town boys and girl.

They have struggled for players, and still have to pick up a point, but they have never let their heads drop and have fought with spirit and determination.

They only lost 1-0 to Pensnett, Harriers and the development in the team since the start of the season was there for all to see.

But it was a good day for Pensnett. Richard Harris scored in their win against Dudley, and they followed this up with a similar scoreline against Coopers Casuals, with Ben Jones on target.

At the same time New Park village had a brace from Khaellem Russell and one from Frank Hill to see them to a 3-1 victory over Ashbourne Raiders, for whom Charlie Irving was on target.

However, it was the second set of matches that saw things change, as Pumas went down 1-2 to NPV, and Perton could only manage a goalless draw with Ashbourne, results that see NPV jump up to second place in the table.

NPV’s scorers in their second game were Frank Hill and Khaellem Russell again, with Joshua Birkett on target for Pumas.
