Plum draw for Rushall

cup.jpgRushall Olympic today secured a dream FA Cup trip to York in the fourth qualifying round.

Pics will travel to the Blue Square Premier side’s KitKat Crescent on Saturday, October 27 for the tie.

Victory will give them a crack at possible Football League opposition in the first round proper.

Manager Paul Holleran said: “I looked at it last night and thought to myself ‘if we don’t get a home draw I would like York away’.

“I think York are probably the biggest club in our half of the draw so we are delighted with this draw.

“I think if you look at the draw we are probably the smallest club left in terms of crowds so this is real David and Goliath stuff.

“The main thing is that it will be a really big occasion for the club and we’re all looking forward to it.

“Hopefully we will have picked up one or two more fans from Saturday’s win so we can take the hardcore fans and also a few others who join us for the day out.”

Rushall’s British Gas Business Southern League Midlands division neighbours Chasetown have been drawn at home to Blue Square Northern division side Nuneaton.

Success guarantees clubs £10,000 prize money in addition to the £5,000 they earned for winning at the weekend.

Elsewhere in the draw, Blue Square Premier rivals Kidderminster and Stafford have home ties against Vauxhall Motors and Cambridge United respectively.
