Cadbury Athletic 0 Greenhill FC 1
Tuesday 9th October 2007, 1:14PM BST.
On Saturday Halesowen based Greenhill FC left it late to snatch all three points at Cadbury Res in Mid Combination Division 2.
After last week’s defeat manager Steve Newton made several changes giving debuts to Matt Greeves and Jordan Rice and bringing in Jimmy Robinson and Adam Wooldridge.
Darren Smith, Dean Palmer and veteran defender Dominic Horton returned after injury. Greenhill had the better of a tight first half with Palmer and Robinson having the best two chances but the game remained goalless.
After the break both teams failed to take chances with Mark Whitehouse making to vital saves for Greenhill.
Chris McGrath was sent off for Cadbury after a second bookable offence but the game looked set for a draw until Greenhill substitute Darren Wothers controlled and finished a Jordan Rice Cross with great skill in the 5th minute of injury time to give Greenhill their first league win of the season.
Greenhill host Loughborough University in the Challenge Cup on Saturday, 3pm.
