Greenhill lose 3-2

Tuesday 2nd October 2007, 9:54AM BST.

pitch1.jpgOn Saturday Halesowen based Greenhill FC of Div 2 of the Mid Com lost 3-2 to Droitwich Spa Reserves in their second league game of the season.

The game got off to a bad start for Greenhill conceding a poor goal within 7 minutes and they conceded a second midway through the first half.

Greenhill’s poor first half display was improved upon after the break after harsh words by Manager Steve Newton.

Newton bought on Steve Roberts who lifted the team and Dan Portman soon pulled one back with his first goal for the club.

However, just as they were pushing for the equaliser Greenhill conceded a third goal after conceding a free kick.

Roberts made the score 3-2 after a pulsating run but the equaliser didn’t come and Greenhill lost the game.

Next week Greenhill travel to Cadbury Reserves (kick-off 3pm) with Steve Newton likely to make changes.
