Hawks grab narrow win
Monday 1st October 2007, 9:13AM BST.
Halas Hawks 3 – 2 Langley Town Halas
U12s played host to Langley town youth but with only 11 available players.
Despite this disadvantage the team put on a sterling effort in the first half to take a two nil lead into the break.
The first goal came from a 20 yard lob from Daniel Scarret. The second goal came not much later from a super through ball from Jack Hipkiss and a coolly taken finnish by Joe Ward.
In the second half Halas added a 3rd with a scorching 25yd drive from Danny Hodges.
As the second half progressed Halas with no subs began to tire and Langley Town came on strong and scored two well taken goals to make it 3 -2 .
This led to a nailbitting last 10mins, but with some strong defending by the whole team especially man of the match Shivjot Dhanju.
The game finished 3 – 2 to Halas to give them their 4th straight win.
