Ashmore romp to 14-2 win
Tuesday 25th September 2007, 3:34PM BST.
The Ashmore had a visit from Billbrook in the weekend’s cup game at Ashmore park.
It didn’t take long before the Ash got to work on Billbrook with 2 goals from Rogers in the 18th and 21st mins it seemed that the home side were on easy street.
Then Billbrook hit back with goals from Briton and a 25 yarder from Griffiths that knocked the home side back now.
Only one team looked in charge Billbrook where working a lot harder then the Ash, the support play from them was neat and tidy the away side seemed to have rocked the Ash but were hit with a classic sucker punch, Rogers went past his marker and was pulled down the ref pointed to the spot and Cooper stepped up to smash the spot kick past the Billbrook keeper.
Some of the Billbrook team where complaining that Rogers had taken a dive when this was put to manager Padir Brewster at half time he said “well I really didn’t see it as I was standing right behind Arsene Wenger”.
At half time the score was 3-2 to the home side when the 2nd Half started what ever was said to the cheesesmen (ashmore) by Brewster it worked as goals from Rogers 3 more 2 more form Cooper 2 Mincher 2 Sandland and 1 from *()^%$& (Ryan) the Ashmore run out 14-2 winners.
Some lovely football was played by onions Hale and Pugh, Branon Healy and Pugh came off and were replaced by the Cartwright Boys and Ryan.
The whole Ashmore team played a part in this fine win.
