A Black Country muscleman who has fought his way back from injury is now looking for someone to help him take his career from strength to strength.

Tipton strongman Wayne Russell has started competing again after recovering from a ripped bicep. The injury, which the 34-year-old suffered while flipping a tyre, kept him out of competition for months.

Wayne, of Greensill Avenue, had to undergo a four-and-a-half hour operation to repair the damage. But now the father-of-six is back and on the lookout for a sponsor.

He said money from a sponsor would help pay for physiotherapy sessions and also the equipment he needed to train. Wayne said any help would be gratefully received.

“I ripped my bicep in April and it forced me out for the year but I’m back now and I’m looking for someone to sponsor me,” he said.

Wayne, who works as a production manager for Conyers in Lye, spends his spare time working towards being one of the toughest strongmen in the country.

Events that he takes part in include the farmer’s walk, which involves running with 160kg in each hand, and lifting Atlas stones. Anyone who can help can call 07852191955.
