Walsall boss Richard Money today demanded ‘no excuses’ from his struggling side when they enter the pressure cooker of tomorrow’s crunch clash with Port Vale
Money admitted his side must step up to the mark against Vale at the Banks’s Stadium after their dismal start to the season left only crisis club Leeds between them and the bottom of the table.
But the Saddlers manager is relishing the chance to get back into action after Tuesday’s fifth straight defeat at Bournemouth.
“I think any game is a good game to have to be honest,” said Money.
“It’s pure and simple, we’ve got to step up to the mark. There are absolutely no excuses whatsoever.”
And Money has hinted he will turn to experience in a bid to find the winning formula, with Danny Sonner, Michael Dobson and Tommy Mooney all hoping to return from injury.

“I’m not sure whether this is a game for young players. We’ve put ourselves in a bit of a pressure cooker and this is a local derby.
“I think in the main you need old heads. I think Port Vale will bring a very vocal following and I think there will be a big atmosphere.”
