the first game of the season kicked off with some nice football by the ash with cooper and brown coming close from good overall good attacking play but from a corner after 15 mins a mix up at the front post homested went 1 up the ashmore then started to play there own passing game and then on 20 mins lee mincher got the ball from a free kick went down the line and played in tony brown who drove the ball past the homested goalkeeper.3 mins latter carl rogers shot was handled in the box and a peno given’ that seemed a bad one as the ball clearly hit the player on the chest rogers steped up and missed with 10 mins to the 2nd period rogers made a mens when he linked up with aide hale and scooped the ball over the on coming goal keeper soon after cooper made it 3 with a well placed shot after good overall teeam play ashmore went in at haft time 3-1 up when the 2nd period started the ashmore drove forward and 2 goals from lee mincher who worked hard in the 2nd period a late peno from healey gave the ashmore 3 points but at the back for the home side brannon’rickhuss’the cartwright brothers all played well when called on but the man of the match was danny pugh with his outstanding runs and hard work getting up and down the rigth flank.
