Albion 2 Barnsley 0
Saturday 1st September 2007, 5:05PM BST.

Albion claim a comfortable win at The Hawthorns.
All the action from The Hawthorns.
16.36: Miller nearly gets his second Albion goal, thrashing a left foot shot towards the top corner only for Muller to pull off a fine save.
16.27: Double changes for the Baggies, Beattie and Morrison for Miller and Brunt. That shows the depth of the Albion squad.
16.21: Former Baggie Andy Johnson gets a standing ovation when he is substituted.
16.15: Martin Swain says: “Barnsley will have to show a big improvement.” And they start the second half brighter.
16.06: They are back on at The Hawthorns. It’s a case of how many, surely, for the Baggies?
15.45: Tony Mowbray will be a happy manager as he delivers his half-time team talk.
15.38: It could be another rout as Albion make it two, Craig Beattie the scorer this time. The striker latched onto Paul Robinson’s pass and fired home from 12 yards.
15.30: Albion take the lead through Filipe Teixeira – and what a finish. He beat two men before rifling home from the edge of the box.
15.15: It’s all Albion in the early exchanges – the Baggies entirely on the front foot, according to our man at the match Martin Swain.
15.07: Former Albion man Andy Johnson is back at The Hawthorns with Barnsley. Could he come back to haunt West Brom?
Don’t forget you can comment during and after the action below this story.
15.00: The match kicks off and the home crowd will be wanting a repeat of last season’s 7-0 win.
14.26: The line-ups are revealed and it’s one change for the Baggies, Zoltan Gera in and Pele out – the midfielder is dropped from the 16.
New boys Chris Brunt and Bartosz Slusarski are on the bench.
Albion: Kiely, Hoefkens, Barnett, Albrechtsen, Robinson, Gera, Greening, Teixeira, Morrison, Phillips, Beattie.
