The 18-year old, who lives in the village of Abbots Bromley, has been awarded a Global Leader of Tomorrow Award.

This is one of the four national and international scholarships offered by the university, and based upon all round academic achievement, voluntary service and leadership skills.

Sarah’s scholarship comes off the back of her recent A-level success, where she notched up three straight A grades.

The teenager is also celebrating after being put forward for the LAMDA Speech and Drama National Communications Award in London next month.

“We are very proud of Sarah’s outstanding achievements here,” said a school spokesman. “She thoroughly deserves this national and international recognition and acclaim, which couldn’t go to a more modest and popular citizen within our school community.

“Sarah’s successes epitomise all that Abbots Bromley stands for – raising girls aspirations for themselves at all levels and in all fields of endeavour.”

The spokesman added Sarah was a member of the school’s senior and chamber choirs; orchestra and jazz band and had completed a number of Duke of Edinburgh expeditions.

She was also a gliding enthusiast and performed for the Abbots Bromley Players.
