A fine penalty save by goalkeeper Clayton Ince could not prevent Walsall crashing to defeat at Leyton Orient in the east of London this afternoon, writes Steve Madeley.

Ince saved Adam’s Boyd’s spot kick eight minutes before half time to ensure that Saddlers went into the break on level terms after an encouraging first half performance.

But they were hit by Gray seven minutes into the second half to ensure that much-fancied Orient took all three points.

And, after an excellent display up to then, Walsall left London angry that Gray was allowed a free header to score his side’s goal.

The first hour brought some excellent attacking play from Richard Money’s side but it counted for nothing and they have just one point to show from their first two matches back in League One.
