History: Greenhill FC was formed at the beginning of 2004-2005 season by a committee of four people, being Steve Newton (Manager), Matt ‘Codger’ Adams (Secretary), Carl Taylor (Treasurer) and Dominic Horton (Chairman.)

Greenhill joined the Midland Combination and have competed in Division 3 for the first three seasons of the club.

The club is based in Halesowen, and played at Greenhill Youth Centre, Long Lane, Halesowen in it’s first season.

Most of the players are from the Halesowen and Stourbridge areas.

The Club moved at the start of season 2005/6 and now play at Cradley Town FC, Beeches Avenue, Halesowen.

Steve Newton and Carl Taylor have known each other since childhood and they met Dominic Horton whilst playing for Enville FC in Division 2 of the Mid Com in 1989.

At various stages all three went onto play for the now defunct Handrahan Timbers in the Premier Division of the Com, with Dominic Horton also spending a few seasons at Blackheath FC in divisions 1 and 2.

At the beginning of the 1998/9 season Steve Newton and Dominic Horton took over at Enville Athletic FC with Newton as manager and Horton as his player/ assistant.

After spending two seasons managing Enville, Newton and Horton took over at Handrahan Timbers FC in the Premier.

At the end of the 2002/ 3 season Timbers folded after the sponsors ceased their funding of the club.

Horton and Newton then moved to Blackheath FC, Horton playing for the club with his brother Matt Adams and Newton linking back up with Carl Taylor to run the reserve team in division 3.

Sadly, Blackheath FC ceased to continue at the end of last season after not being able to play at their Cakemore Road ground.

Newton, Taylor, Adams and Horton formed Greenhill FC after securing use of the Greenhill Youth Centre site.

Captain Jimmy Mattin has followed Horton and Newton to the club from Enville via Handrahan and Blackheath and joined the Club committee at the beginning of season 2005/6.

Greenhill won the Challenge Urn in its first season, beating Coton Green 5-4 on penalties at Atherstone FC after the game ended 2-2 AET with Dominic Horton and Kirt Wainwright being the scorers.

Jimmy Mattin won the distinguished honour of Mid Com Division 3 player of the season in 2006.

The club were promoted to Division 2 at the end of season 2006/7. Club founder and secretary Matt ‘Codger’ Adams is to move to pastures new in Dubai at the beginning of season 2007/8 and has become life president of the club, with Matt Power taking over his secretarial duties.
