Morgan’s imminent £30m investment has seen agents beating a path to their door thinking a new gravy train could be about to arrive at Molineux.

But chief scout Dave Bowman, who is masterminding Mick McCarthy’s hunt for new players, today insisted that won’t be the case.

“Agents have been on the phone thinking we have become Chelsea overnight,” said Bowman. “We do not have £30m to spend on new players.

There is investment in the club, but the club has to be run the same as it has in the last 12 months.

“That has proved a successful blueprint and we’re sticking to it, although the money helps us bring players to the market place that we might not have otherwise looked at.”

This makes my blood boil. These agents are the scourge of the modern game and they epitomise everything wrong with football today. I just hope that Wolves don’t fall foul to these money grabbing vultures AGAIN !!

This Dave Bowman makes the old scout george somebody looks so poor. the new guy really knows his stuff, and i, and i suspect a lot more wolves fans are really surprised and impressed by the desire shown by the players dave has found so far. paying big wages to older players in the championship is a big mistake, as there legs have gone half the time, and are really injury prone. if wolves do have to buy oldish players, then the odd center half in his late twentys early 30s is ok, but for the other positions we might aswell go for young blood.

Dave Bowman seems to really know his stuff and I’m impressed with every player he’s brought in for us this season.

Hopefully there’s more to club! But I can’t help finding this ‘hush hush’ with regards to our transfers a little bit annoying.

In our view its fare better to play our cards “close” to our chest and make announcements when something actually happens

The fact that Wolves are playing down the Morgan takeover speaks volumes and is a statement that the club are not being held to ransom or being part of auctions every time we go in for players

Could be worse – we could be off loading all our star players like a certain strpey outfit down the road!!!

    Up the Wolves!!!

Agents are a good thing, and I’m glad they see Wolves as an exciting opportunity. I hope Willie McKay offers us some more African players. We’ve got £30m to spend, and we may as well do it properly. I think £2m on Cureton, £2m on a keeper and then the rest on hungry African players would put us in the Champions League in the next three years. When we’re there the sky is our oyster. You can’t win n e think with kids or non-league rubbish. SPENDING BIG WORKS.

Mark F, you’ve hit the nail on the head mate, these agents are like vultures circling injured prey just waiting for the rich pickings, you agents really should get real, honest jobs rather than lining your own pockets whilst someone else does all the hard work. It’s you ………………(enter your own word here) that keep the costs in football on an upward spiral so the likes of us real fans have to work longer and harder to earn the dough watch our heroes. Forever Wolves and long may MM’s reign continue.

Execellent assessment of the way wolves will conduct their business in the transfer market, if teams want to spend over the odds then let them, Wolves have had a harsh lesson in the 90′s of how not to spend money, I could list players who are laughing in their retirement of the amount of money they were paid in the McGhee, Taylor and Lee era, rotten money grabbers!!

i get frustrated by the hush hush approach too BUT !!!!!!!!!!!!

Even though mr moxey gets all the grief (which 9 in 10 he does NOT deserve) i prefer to be kept in the dark by moxey, morgan, bowman and Merlin-Mick knowing that at least if we are in the dark we will get the better players more economically and not be cazzumped by the premier big hitters.

Is Visgae Wolf having laugh? Big spending hasn’t worked in the past, thats why we’re still in the championship. As for Willie Mackay, he’s the bloke that pulled our pants down with Henry Camara deal, so he’s a really good idea. And finally; non league rubbish. Has he watched Kightley? Visage Wolf should stick to knitting, he probably knows more about it!

Perhaps we could stop worrying about what the Baggies are up to and just look forward to next season. They ARE going to be a force to be reckonned with, along with the three that came down from the top tier, never mind Saints, Preston, Wednesday et al. Let’s just keep supporting the WOLVES, the manager AND moxey and the rest. WE HAVE TO BE ALL ROUND Premiership quality, if that’s where we want to be

Personally, I get bored by all the rumour and speculation that goes round about who’s going to buy whom. I like Wolves schtum policy until something happens. It makes sense and if the deals come off, great, if they don’t there’s no thoughts about who’s incompetent etc. Mick knows what he’s looking for, good job it’s not just the last part of a jigsaw. Ideas like that are better left in the play pen

Not sure about the wisdom (or sensitivity) of Visage Wolf’s call for teamful of ‘hungry African players.’ Conjures up an unfortunate vision of a side missing out on promotion through failure to adjust to getting three square meals a day.

Sign Sharp and ask Ollie to bring back the best central defender he can find when he returns from his holidays, and we’ll be fine…
