Carers urged to display talents
Wednesday 16th May 2007, 11:30AM BST.
Carers from across the Dudley borough are invited to a special event which aims to celebrate their many talents, from painting to photography, as well as their devotion to looking after friends and family.
The Dudley Carers Forum wants people to join them for the event on June 16, which will coincide with National Carers Week.
The idea is for people who give up their time tending to those with a long-term illness, disability or the elderly to show they have more to offer than caring alone.
The event will be held at Brierley Hill Civic Hall between 10.30am and 3.30pm and people can exhibit or demonstrate their gifts from sewing to writing to complementary therapies or computing.

Chairman of Dudley Carers Forum Sandra Croot said: “If you look after a relative or friend with an illness or disability, you need to have some time for yourself. This is our second celebration event and last year we were astounded at the range of talents shown by Dudley’s carers.”
Any carer who lives in the borough can take part.
There are only a limited number of tables and stands.
