Sue’s colour nailed to the mast
Wednesday 9th May 2007, 8:59PM BST.
There’s no limit to the lengths some fans will go to demonstrate their support for Wolves – with one woman marking Sunday’s derby with a shiny new set of nails.
Saleswoman Sue Tolley, from Codsall, has had specially-commissioned nail art for the occasion, with Albion’s colours on one hand and the gold and black of Wolves on the other.
The 27-year-old, who will be glued to the television on Sunday, said: “It’s a big occasion for the city and there is a real buzz about the place.
“My boyfriend will be so impressed with the Wolves colours as he’s a huge fan but I’ll have to hide the Albion hand.
“I’m going to get the weirdest looks but everybody’s got to do their bit to support the team. I truly believe that Wolves can make it all the way to Wembley.
“They’ve had such a good season and this is my way of supporting them.”
She tasked nail technician Thal Huynh, from US Nails in Stafford Street, Wolverhampton, with the challenge of transforming her nails for the occasion.
He said: “The strangest thing I have ever done was cut up sections of a £20 note and glue them on a woman’s nails.
“I’ve done the Wolves colours a couple of times before for customers and I’m expecting to do many more in the run-up to the big matches,” he added.

How is this woman demonstrating her support for Wolves if she has had one hand painted in Albion colours? If it was a “I’m a Baggies fan but my other half is a Wolves fan” story fair do’s but it doesn’t even mention that she is. Are your editorial team just desperate for a story?

Miss C, I think you’ve hit the nail (oops, bad pun) on the head with it being a desperate article. Next we’ll see an undecided Golden Retriever with a blue & white tail…. Come on guys, get a grip.

Is that the sound of someone scraping the bottom of the barrel ?
I think i’ll put a blue & white sticker in my car window next to my wolves sticker, will you do an article on me ?
Andy Wolf I think you’re spot on with the golden retriever remark !
Come on guys, THE biggest game of the ENTIRE SEASON and we can’t find anything more imaginative than some bint whos desperate to get in the paper with her nails in
2 different colours… If you are a wolves fan then you should be ashamed of yourself for the blue and white nails anyway.
