Albion’s odds on the slide
Wednesday 25th April 2007, 9:00PM BST.
Albion’s dodgy form has seen them ease in the bookies’ odds for a place in the play-offs.
But the market makers still see the Baggies as odds-on for a spot in the end of season shootout.
Albion have moved out 4/11 from 1/5 to make the play-offs.
The drift continued after defeat against Burnley on Monday night.
On-line bet365 spokesman Steve Freeth said: “The Baggies should have cemented their play-off place months ago.
“But they are now in real danger of missing them altogether.
“Clubs like Colchester, Stoke and Sheffield Wednesday all benefited from Wolves getting turned over on Sunday.
“And they must have been celebrating again on Monday after the Burnley comeback at Turf Moor.”
Odds to reach play-offs
Preston 3-1 on
Albion 11-4 on
Wolves 15-8 on
Southampton 11-8
Stoke 9-4
Birmingham 3-1
Colchester 7-2
Sheffield Wedneday 9-2
Sunderland 5-1
