A dispersal order giving police the power to send troublemakers packing has been introduced in a village near Wolverhampton.
The order, which allows police to break up unruly groups of two or more people have been introduced in Perton, following nearly two years of discussions about bringing in the controversial regulations.
As part of the order, youngsters under the age of 16 hanging around without an adult can be taken home.
Perton Police’s community support officer said that the scheme was already having an impact in the village – despite only coming into force in March.

“It means we are able to disperse groups of two or more youngsters if they are causing alarm.
“We feel there has already been a marked improvement.”
The order is focused mainly in Gainsborough Drive and Anders Square.
