Sleeping beauties raise cash

Beauty sleep took on a whole new meaning when a host of lovelies took to their bed in a Black Country shop window.
Model Kelly Osborne and her glamorous friends volunteered to help out at the Barnardo’s store, in Walsall’s Bradford Street, by catching 40 winks in a bed displayed in the front window to raise cash for the charity.
Manager James Green dreamed up the stunt to attract more customers into the town centre store and generate donations from curious passers-by. Kelly was among the first to answer the call when the staff launched an appeal for volunteers.

Mr Green said: “We’re a furniture store as well as having gifts, so we already have the bed and we thought it would be a bit of fun to help raise extra money.”
All of the proceeds raised will go towards Barnardo’s projects. Schemes include short breaks for disabled children and support for children affected by substance misuse and poverty, abuse and sexual exploitation.
