Duo get all-clear for loans

Wolves’ forgotten men Jemal Johnson and Rohan Ricketts have been told they can leave the club on loan.
The pair played a pivotal role in Wolves’ early season efforts – but boss Mick McCarthy’s January spending spree has seen them tumble down the pecking order in recent weeks.
With the Football League’s emergency loan window opening again tomorrow, the Wolves boss admits he will not stand in the way of either moving to get regular football.

Johnson made a big impact when he joined Wolves from Blackburn in the summer, but the arrival of Stephen Ward and Andy Keogh has hit his chances.
Even with Craig Davies sidelined with a medial ligament injury, Johnson failed to make the bench on Saturday.
“Obviously Jemal wants to play, so if he got an opportunity to go out on loan he might want to consider it. He’s a young player and he needs to get games,” McCarthy said.
“Of course, loaning him out was a possibility during the January transfer window. I said to him that if someone came in during the window we would consider it and the situation hasn’t changed. But if that doesn’t happen he needs to continue working hard and trying to get back in the team.”
And Ricketts’ future could also lie away from Molineux. The winger’s last start for Wolves was in the Albion defeat a fortnight ago – when he was substituted at half-time.
“Given everybody is fit I wouldn’t have any complaints about Rohan going out on loan,” McCarthy said.
“Sometimes players are better playing a month somewhere else and playing a bit of football.
“Rohan knows that – he knows that if somebody had come in for him during the January transfer window I would have discussed it with him.”
