Joe set for stint on C4′s island

A 20-year-old student from Kidderminster has been chosen to star in the Channel 4 reality TV show Shipwrecked. Joseph Stone will spend the next five months marooned on a remote South Pacific island of Motrorakau.

Joe, as he prefers to be called, has joined the five-strong Sharks team which will try to win a share of the £70,000 first prize.

The creative writing student must play his part in the team to attract new members to the island.

The Sharks will compete against the rival Tigers to attract a new member to their island. Each week for 19 weeks a new arrival will appear.

The team with the most members at the end of the series will win the cash.

In an interview on the Shipwrecked website, Joe describes himself as a bit of a “gossip” and took a book and a pen as his luxury items.

He said: “”I thought it was a good opportunity to be removed from my comfort zone.
