Jane’s warmth shines through

Jane McDonald, Lichfield Garrick
Stars are often quoted as saying how much they love their fans, and need them to continue being successful, but how many of them actually mean it?
Well one singer who does actually mean it is Jane McDonald.
The self-proclaimed diva performed to two sold-out houses at the Lichfield Garrick theatre on Saturday night and last night.
And despite clearly battling a cold – the artist took several swigs of cough medicine whilst on stage last night – Jane’s performance was excellent.
Having recently interviewed Jane, whose big break came several years ago when she appeared on the television show The Cruise, I was keen to see if she was as nice on stage as she was during the interview. And she was.
She embraced her audience as soon as she walked on stage, and the interaction continued throughout the show.
With a seven-piece band behind her, and two backing singers, the audience were treated to a great live show featuring a wealth of songs from over the years.
The audience clearly loved her, with many fans returning last night for the second show of the weekend. At £25 a ticket, that’s some loyalty!
