Time to map out a plan for Villa's future

Plans to translate website
Saturday 30th December 2006, 7:11PM GMT.
Students at a Wyre Forest language college could be recruited to help translate information on the district’s main tourism websites into foreign languages to boost tourism in the area.
The Wyre Forest District Council website is only available in English. Following a meeting with town centre groups, officials have suggested it could be translated into various different languages, including those of people living in the twin towns of Kidderminster, Bewdley and Stourport-on-Severn.
People from the respective towns of Husum and Vellmar in Germany, and Villeneuve-le-Roi in France, could also be asked to help translate the information to help boost tourism to local towns.
Although there is an ethnic access link scheme operated by the council through which people can get documents translated, councillors believe greater access to the website would enable the district to attract more day-trippers as well as longer-stay tourists.
The council’s prosperity policy panel will discuss the idea on January 10.
