Pub gutted in latest blaze

dolphin.jpgA former Walsall pub has been gutted in a suspected arson attack.

Fire crews raced to The Dolphin in Goscote Lane, Bloxwich, at around 2.30am. The outbreak is the second attack in the last two nights on the derelict pub, which has now been left in ruins.

Fire investigation and police officers were this morning investigating the cause of the blaze, which is being treated as suspicious.

The pub has stood empty for some time awaiting a new landlord although its future is now uncertain.

Six fire engines were called to the scene and it took firefighters over an hour to bring the blaze under control.

On Boxing Day firefighters were called to a kitchen fire at the pub which caused minor damage to the bar. It is closed at the moment awaiting a new landlord.
