Cyclist hurt in police smash

A teenage cyclist suffered a broken leg in a smash involving a police patrol car in Bloxwich today.
It is the second road accident involving a police vehicle in the West Midlands over the last three days.
The 16-year-old local boy is being treated at Walsall Manor Hospital following the collision in Walker Road, at its junction with Well Lane, Blakenall. His condition was described as comfortable today.

Mother-of-three Bhupinder Kaur was killed and five people injured on Sunday morning in a three-car crash, also involving a police car.
The 46-year-old, of Fallings Park, Wolverhampton, was a passenger in a Ford Escort. A Renault Clio and police Vauxhall Astra responding to an emergency call near Willenhall were also involved.
At around 12.30am today a second Vauxhall Astra patrol vehicle was involved in the Blakenall collision.
The officers in the car were not hurt and no other vehicles are thought to have been involved.
Witnesses are being urged to contact the traffic department at Bloxwich on 0845 113 5000.
