Club fight off Kamara bidders

Albion will shrug off any attempts by Diomansy Kamara’s agent to drum up January interest in their top scorer.
Fabrizio Ferrari, who represents the Senegal international forward, has told an Italian radio station Roma remain interested in taking his client to Serie A.
Kamara was a target for both Roma and Torino in the summer and Ferrari insists he remains on the Giallorossi’s radar for January.

Fabrizio Ferrari, who represents the Senegal international forward, has told an Italian radio station Roma remain interested in taking his client to Serie A.
Kamara was a target for both Roma and Torino in the summer and Ferrari insists he remains on the Giallorossi’s radar for January.
“Kamara was bought by West Brom for £2m, but I believe he is now worth more,” said Ferrari.
“It might take up to £2.8m to convince the club to let him leave. Kamara’s move to Roma does not depend on us, but on West Brom’s chairman, who adores the player and is not keen on seeing him return to Italy.
“He was close to joining the Giallorossi this summer, but then there were complications, so Roma chose Mirko Vucinic and did not renew their offer.
“I think it’s too early now to say if there is a true chance of seeing Kamara move, it is not an easy operation. English football is very rich and the clubs are not willing to let the best players leave.”
Ferrari’s comments are likely to cut little ice with The Hawthorns hierarchy, who tied Kamara to a new three-year-contract in September. And although boss Tony Mowbray has been told he must sell before he can buy, I understand there is little prospect of Albion considering parting with their eight goal top-scorer – even though he hasn’t scored since netting twice against QPR on October 31.
While speculation continues to rage about Kamara’s Baggies future, Albion were today linked with a move for Hull keeper Boaz Myhill. Mowbray has already hinted out-of-favour Pascal Zuberbuhler could be sent out on loan, which would leave only youngster Luke Steele as back-up for the ageing Russell Hoult.
And sources in Yorkshire insists the highly-rated Myhill could be the man Mowbray turns to, even though the Tigers are are yet to receive any formal offers for the shot-stopper.
Hull are currently managerless, but their new boss will be told he must sell before he can buy, with Myhill one of their most saleable assets.
