The night sky in Wolverhampton is being lit up in spectacular style – with the launch of neon lights on three towerblocks which can be seen for miles around.
The flats on the Graiseley estate have been likened to giant Christmas trees having been transformed under a £8 million makeover which is now nearing completion.
Inspired by the dazzling display on the University of Wolverhampton’s building close to Molineux, the lights subtly change through the entire colour spectrum across Grosvenor Court, Russell Court and Graiseley Court.
They cost £120,000 and are part of an upgrade which has involved the installation of new kitchens, bathrooms and central heating to overhaul the once drab council properties.
Resident Edward Jones admired the exterior lighting as he returned home from work last night.
He said: “It really does brighten up the place and I like the way the lighting on all three towers changes simultaneously.”
