The company was also shortlisted in the Catalogue Printer of the Year Award category.

PCP managing director, Alex Evans, (pictured second from left) received the award at a glittering ceremony held at The Grosvenor House Hotel, in Park Lane, London.

“I’m very pleased to have accepted the award on behalf of all our staff, and it’s a real testimony to the hard work and dedication everyone has put in,” he said.

“This is only the second time we have entered the PrintWeek Awards, and it’s an incredible achievement to have been rewarded in such a high profile way at just our second attempt.”

The category was sponsored by UPM, and judges said PCP had “romped home in one of the toughest categories of all”.

“It’s particularly pleasing that the Awards were judged by customers from the print industry.

“They were big name print buyers covering all the major print disciplines, and we are delighted they have recognised the high standards we are setting and the quality of our work,” said Alex.

Precision Colour Printing, founded in 1980, is one of the leading magazine printing companies in the UK, and is part of The Claverley Group, the owners of the Express & Star and the Shropshire Star newspapers.

“In the past few years, we have invested over £10 million in state-of-the-art equipment which has kept us competitive and at the forefront of technological change,” said Alex.

“And perhaps more importantly, we have also invested heavily in people, as a well-trained and committed workforce is vital to our ongoing success.”
