Brave Ellie’s date with Queen
Monday 23rd October 2006, 7:36PM BST.
News of the trip comes a day after Ellie has returned from a dream visit to Disneyland Paris
The six-year-old jetted off with her dad Paul four days ago, after friends of the family stumped up the cash.
It was the first time Ellie has been on holiday since she fell ill in February.
She lost both her legs, her right arm and three fingers on her left hand due to the disease and now lives with her father on a narrowboat in Oldbury.
They will soon be moving to a specially adapted bungalow in Rowley Regis, which has been bought by a special trust set up in her name.
Her father said today: “It was really a trip to remember, we packed a lot in. I was determined we were going to have a great time. She’s now really looking forward to the London trip.”
Ellie said: “I had a really great time, went on all the rides and met all the characters.”
The trip to Disneyland was made possible by Billy and Dawn Murphy from Oakham, near Dudley, who run a property development business,
Julian Churchill, from Pedmore, Stourbridge, who owns Black Country Pallets, chipped in with £500 in spending money.
Ellie met all her favourite characters including Mickey, Pooh Bear, Eeyore and Dumbo.
