Time to map out a plan for Villa's future

Future of attack club in doubt

Bosses declared today that they no longer had the heart to carry on. The non-League club has turned its finances around and looked set to qualify for the FA Cup for the first time.
But yobs smashed their way into the clubhouse in Shire Oak, Lichfield Road, early yesterday, breaking huge holes in the ceiling, ripping up the bar and knocking chunks out of the walls.
Club official Terry Ankrett said matches would now have to be postponed or cancelled.
He said: “We want CCTV but we just can’t afford it. It looks like a bomb’s hit us.
“The team is doing well in the league, the finances are doing well, so to now have a downer like this is just too much. It is a case of one step forward, three steps back.
“We could have qualified for the FA Cup this season. This is the final straw. I am finishing – as I just can’t run it any more.”
Emergency builders had to visit the scene yesterday to cover the roof and a team of dedicated supporters have been taking part in an extensive cleaning up operation.
