Burntwood Music For All was launched following the demise of Burntwood and District Organ Society, which staged its last concert in December 2005 after almost 30 years.

But two months earlier, last October, musical couple Chris and Marie Powell had already decided to carry on the music in Burntwood.

And under the heading of Burntwood Music For All they have continued to stage monthly concerts.

To celebrate making that decision a year ago Mr Powell, a former Blackpool Tower organist, will be tinkling the ivories on October 19.

And to ensure the concert goes with a bang the audience will be able to enjoy a free drink and nibbles.

“Chris was playing the organ at a concert for Burntwood and District Organ Society last October where it was decided that December would be their final concert,” said Marie Powell, who used to attend concerts with her grandparents.

“A lot of people said to him ‘can’t you do something?’ and so we started promoting our club from then on.

Tickets for this month’s show, which starts at 7.45pm, cost just £4 and will be available on the door.
