All happy on Preston front
Monday 9th October 2006, 8:58PM BST.
The band rocketed to stardom since their frontman appeared on the hit reality show.
But it was business as usual last night at the city’s Civic Hall. Middle-aged music lovers jumped and cheered as they reminisced about the ska era which the band has re-ignited with their songs.
The biggest crowd pleasers were energetic performances of Top 10 hit Boys Will Be Boys and new single Lonely at the Top.
The cockney lads made little use of flashy backdrops or props for the gig and there was little interaction with the excited crowd.
But when Preston recalled a “mental gig” at Wolverhampton’s Little Civic some years before, the masses went wild.
