Thousands buy panto tickets

Monday 2nd October 2006, 6:52PM BST.

Jack and the Beanstalk, starring Irish comic Jimmy Cricket, will take to the Lichfield Garrick stage for a month-long run on December 7.

The pantomime is just one of several forthcoming productions proving a hit with the public. Several top shows are already sold out with more heading that way.

Mark Davies, box office and productions manager at the Garrick, said: “We are launching our November to July programme soon, but prior to this we have got a really exciting couple of months ahead of us.

“The response to the Cleo Lane and John Dankworth Gala Night has been amazing, selling out really quickly.

“Tickets for the rest of the season have also been selling well, including the West End hit The Play What I Wrote.”

* Young performers are reminded they can audition for the panto this Saturday. Up to 20 Lichfield children have the chance to appear in the show.

For audition details, and to book tickets for any show at the Garrick, call the box office on 01543 412121.
