Pat McFadden, Emma Reynolds, and Rob Marris are supporting #heartsafe15 which is raising £57,000 to pay for the units.

Mr McFadden, who represents Wolverhampton South East, said: "I think this is a great campaign. Well done to the Express & Star for supporting it and I hope the health authorities in the city get behind it."

Mr Marris, who won back Wolverhampton South West at the General Election, said: "Defibrillators save lives. When someone has a heart attack, early intervention vastly increases their chances of survival. I support the campaign led by the E&S to increase the availability and accessibility of defibrillators in Wolverhampton."

Wolverhampton North East MP Emma Reynolds said: "I wholeheartedly support this campaign which highlights the need for defibrillators in our city. Fast use of these defibrillators can save lives, with resuscitation rates increased by 70 per cent. Distributing these defibrillators around Wolverhampton will mean that fewer families will lose a loved one to a heart attack."

Using defibrillators in the first few minutes of an arrest means the chances of resuscitation can increase by 70 per cent. We have teamed up with defibrillator fundraisers AEDdonate to launch our campaign – which is backed by West Midlands Ambulance Service and Wolverhampton council.

You can give by text message by texting 'AEDW50' to 70070 followed by how much you want to donate. Alternatively, you can make an online donation at www.crowdfunder.co.uk/wolverhampton-aed-campaign. We are also encouraging people to engage in the campaign by tweeting us with the hashtag #heartsafe15.
