Salim Khan's team were put into bat and bowled out for just 114, leaving Swindon 62 overs to chase down the runs.

But YPF spun Swindon out for just 57 after a couple of early wickets from opening seamer Jamshad Ahmed had got the ball rolling.

Khan admitted: "The score that we made was a bit below par, we didn't bat our full overs. At the halfway stage, it looked like they were in the box seat.

"The key things was we knew it was a spinning track so if we got early wickets we'd be able to defend and that's exactly how it worked."

Muhammad Zubair took four wickets for just seven runs after making a top score of 36 with the bat, and he was backed up by second spinner Masood Arshad, who took 3-6.

YPF moved up to fourth in the league with the win and Khan is feeling positive about the season ahead.

He said: "We're just getting used to this league. We've had four games in total, the first game was abandoned, the second game we were beaten comprehensively, and the third game we should have won.

"We're learning quickly. All of these teams are unknown quantities to us. The aim for the season is to get the team to in the top four or five.

"First aim is to stay in the league but if we play to our full capacity that shouldn't be too difficult a task.

"If we improve our batting – and I'm sure the guys are working in the nets – then we should be fine."

Pelsall were the other big movers on the day thanks to their 18-point winning draw at bottom club Wednesbury.

Todd Henderson smashed six sixes on his way to a cruel 99 not out as Pelsall made 254-5 from their 50 overs.

But, even though Henderson then took three wickets with the ball, Pelsall couldn't bowl out their hosts, who finished on 97-9.

Whittington are still top of the league despite their rain-affected losing draw at Beacon, but they can count themselves unlucky.

The weather stopped them chasing down 301 when they were well-placed exactly halfway through the overs on 137-1.

Cannock have moved within three points of the early pace-setters thanks to their 17-point winning draw at home to Aldridge.

Brian Barnard fell four short of his century as Will Fleet's side posted a large score of 263-7. Aldridge were just 85-8 in reply.

Hammerwich bowler Tom Freeman took four wickets, as Milford Hall made 235-7.

Patrick Knott was well placed on 62 not out before the chase was cut short, after 29 overs when Hammerwich were on 118-3.

Bloxwich's match against Penn was abandoned.
