Stourbridge's streak halted on the road

Stourbridge's four-match winning streak in National Two North came to an end at Sale on Saturday.

Going down 13-10, Stour are still in third place, but now just one point ahead of Sandal in fourth. After a spectacular start, Stour's tactics fell victim to errors.

It was 10-10 after 15 minutes, with Josh Trinham scoring from 40 metres out and Chris Scott scoring a conversion and a penalty.

And it stayed that way until four minutes from time when Liam McGovern nudged the hosts – the amateur club affiliated to professional outfit Sale Sharks – ahead.

Next up this Saturday is a home match against Luctonians, who are third from bottom, but have won their last three games.

Old Halesonians stayed second in National Three Midlands with a 36-10 home victory over Newport Salop.

Ten points behind leaders Hinckley, Hales are home to sixth-placed Syston this Saturday.

In Midlands One West, Dudley Kingswinford beat Silhillians away 33-14 to record back-to-back victories for the first time this season.

Walsall's game against league leaders Bridgnorth was postponed. They travel to Crewe & Nantwich this Saturday.

Kidderminster Carolians scored eight tries to emphatically beat Yardleians 50-5 in Midlands Two West North.

Josh Winfield and Arthur Morgan each scored twice and Chris Pinner knocked over five conversions.

Kidder consolidated their fifth spot and extended the advantage over their sixth-placed opponents from two points to seven. Next up is a trip to Shrewsbury, who are 10th.

Stourbridge Lions narrowly lost out 25-24 at Camp Hill. They travel to second-bottom Handsworth next.

Wednesbury picked up their first win of the season in Midlands Three West North at the tenth attempt, beating local rivals Willenhall away 11-8.

A Jordan Allwood try and two Dan Till penalties gave them an 11-0 half-time lead and they withstood a second-half Wednesbury fightback.

Next up for Wednesbury is a home match against Bloxwich, while Willenhall travel to Eccleshall.

Cannock were beaten 20-17 by second-placed Ludlow. Sixth in the league, they travel to Newcastle (Staffs) this Saturday. In Midlands Four West North, Rugeley and Aldridge both lost.
