Wolverhampton soul singer Beverley Knight made her debut in musical The Bodyguard in the West End last night to a sell-out audience.
The 40-year-old songstress, originally from Penn Fields, takes the role of Rachel Marron, made famous by Whitney Houston in the film of the same name and she will be performing opposite Casualty star Tristan Gemmill.
The show includes hits such as I Will Always Love You and Saving All My Love.
She took to Twitter last night to thank her fans for their support - and said people were queueing down the road outside to get in the theatre.
Complete sell out, folk queued down the road. About to start Act 2... LOVING IT! Xxxxxxx— Beverley Knight (@Beverleyknight) September 9, 2013
